The temple is dedicated to Mahaganapathy. There are idols of Lord Anjaneya and Lord Muruka, Navagraha and Nagas. This is the only temple dedicated to Mahaganapathy in Thrissur district. Thiruvambady Mahaganapathy Temple is located near the Thiruvambady Sri Krishna temple at Trichur. It situating 1 km distance from the Vadakkumnathan Temple. This is also the only temple dedicated to lord Ganesha in thrissur. There are idols of Lord Anjaneya and Lord Muruka, Navagraha and Nagas here. He is a widely worshipped and widely depicted form of Ganesha.The icon symbolizes happiness, wealth and magnificence of Ganesha. The straight road opposite the temple leads to Poonkunnam Railway station and further up to Poonkunnam junction.The Thiruvambady Mahaganapthy Temple is just behind of the famous Thiruvambadi Sri krishna temple is located in the city of Thrissur in Kerala, India.
